Saves you at least $20. You need to replace the filter every 50 gallons. It has a digital meter that tells you when you need a new filter. This pitcher comes with a filter. The set up is easy, make sure you read the instructions which are labeled 1 2 3, that easy. Takes about a minute to fill up the pitcher. If you drink a lot of water you should get this pitcher because it will save you money. It holds a nice amount of water and does a decent job of removing the bleachy smell my water has. It filters pretty fast and washing it from time to time is pretty easy. I only have two complaints - the little display on top never worked. Brita enclosed a note that it would stop working after a while but the pitcher would still be fine to use even if it didn't work. Seems silly to add a feature that would knowingly quit working - and mine never worked. It doesn't matter to me but if you need a reminder to change your filter, this isn't the pitcher for you. My other issue is with the filters. The carbon constantly comes out of the filter and into the water in both reservoirs. I see lots of black dots floating in the top part when the water is filtering and then when you get to the last glass of filtered water there's carbon dust and black dots in the bottom. I know it won't harm me but still it's kind of gross to see it... The only complain that I have about the brita pitcher is that the lid does not snap into place like I thought it would. I was disappointed that it did not fit more securely onto the brita pitcher, however it has not really created a problem so far. |
