The filter does a great job of filtering out the impurities, and makes the water taste noticeably better, but the design of the pitcher itself could be much better. The pouring spout is very small, and the flip top sometimes comes loose when you're pouring. Also, the shape of the pitcher itself makes it feel unwieldy and unbalanced when you're pouring from a full pitcher.

The design of the Brita pitcher is much better--unfortunately, Brita filters do not filter out nearly as much stuff as Crystal Quest, which is why I chose to switch to Crystal Quest. If CQ would redesign their pitcher to be more "user friendly" it would be a terrific product.

I used this pitcher for about 6 weeks and it was 6 weeks too many. This pitcher is poorly designed. It is small, narrow and the capacity is not even close to the 10 cups they claim when the filter reservoir is present. The spout is too narrow so it pours slowly. Water glugs out and splashes all over if you tilt it too far. The lid must be held with your free hand when pouring or it will eject if any water is present in the reservoir. The handle is too narrow and is not comfortable to hold, especially when full.

Even worse than the design of the pitcher, the filters only lasted for a few weeks! I went through three filters in the six weeks I used this piece of junk! Yes, you read that right. The first day, your water will flow through quickly. The second day, it slows noticeably. By the fourth day, it starts to take a LONG time to pass the water through the filter. By the end of two weeks, it could no longer pass a full reservoir of water through the filter... Read more

Ok. This is really an awful product and manufacturer. First- it uses deceptive description. It says 2.5L capacity but customer can't really use that much capacity because of filter assembly. It should describe usable capacity.
Second - Water filtered overnight by this pitcher has "white residue".

Let's do a mini experiment here to see-
1. Take a glass of water in the night and rotate alum rock couple of times into it .
2. Fill the filter pitcher.
3. Leave both of them overnight.
4. In the morning, shake both pitcher & the glass. You will see similar white residue into both pitcher & glass.
5. Bottomline - instead of buying this, use alum rock yourselves and save money. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alum

Here's a trick that they probably don't want you to know about.. When your filter stops working, it isn't because the filter itself stopped working. It's because the mechanism inside the filter housing has clicked all the way over and stopped the water flow. If you think your water still tastes good and it probably did right before it stopped flowing on you.. Simply remove the filter like you were going to install a new one.. and the mechanism in the housing resets, then reinstall the filter.

Now you can extend the filter until you wish to replace it. I would recommend replacing it eventually though.

These 2 stages are great. I used to smell metal and chlorine but now NOTHING! I usually buy from Target where they are $14 each, so the price is better here. They also usually have a little of the red indicator already showing, but not these from Amazon. I cant say how many gallons Ive gotten but I would say a couple months pass before I change it. I never feel like, 'Boy I just changed this thing'. I use it for all cooking, tea, washing vegetables and I drink lots of water everyday. Most of the reviews for the 3-stage complain about low water pressure and not lasting very long but I dont have that issue with these 2-stage. As ususal new does not mean better. Even though the 3-stage is cheaper I would suggest investing in the 2-stage as it will pay off in the end.

I've used the Stage 3 filter, but decided to save some money on another faucet and switched to the Stage 2 filter. There might be a difference in how clean the water is, but taste wise I can't tell. This item shipped quickly, safely, and works as it should.

    First of all the package of Brita filters is advertised as a box of 10--I received two boxes of 5 which were already open and the boxes were old and flimsy. The filters themselves seem to be dried out because a lot of the black carbon is on the outside of the filter. I already had a new filter in my pitcher so I have not actually used one of the filters yet but I'm skeptical if they are going to filter out anything at all. I was not happy with this purchase at all!
    P. S. I accidentally clicked on one star and was not able to change it or there would be no stars at all.

    Very disappointed,

    Very disappointed. The 10 pk was actually two 5 pk. One of the boxes was open when I received. When I opened the one filter, the blue granular pieces were all over the filter and inside of the bag. In addition, it has blue stains on the filter. I never saw any filters like this before and was wondering if it is used or it has expired. So I wrote an email to the seller - ClaudiaOutlet. But never heard back from them. It's a waste time and money buy.

    I checked the seller on Amazon.com, but couldn't find it anymore. Hope it went out of the business. Just afraid that it has changed its name to continue selling their defected products, be aware!
