I was spending too much money on buying water bottles and gallons and having to lugg them home and up the stairs. This Brita Atlantis Pitcher is terrific. Nice looking and the color blue looks great. Put together very well. The water taste great too!! I find I am drinking more water since I have started using it. You need to fill it up often but that's no problem. Water goes thru filter rather quickly and you get the reminder of when to change the filter. I also keep track on paper every time I fill the pitcher. Would highly recommend it. Have no complaints at all. And I do not get any black particles when I fill it up. Somewhere around there. I've had several pitchers and have seen a few other models in homes and this one is still trucking along after many years. It's simple, there is no display to remind you when to change the filter, but it stays together. How many times have you gone to pour a glass only to have the lid fall off, or some other part? This pitcher is designed very well. It doesn't rely on inconsistent little tabs to keep it all together, but has a nice edge that fits snugly in the top rim. The capacity is large as well, so that's really convenient too. Hopefully they have taken the good things from this older model and used it in some of the newer ones. All in all, I love this product.
